June was the worst month of my life. Nothing will ever compare to it. The pain and shock and confusion was so immense that I seriously didn't know what to make of it all. The last thing i wanted to do was make music.
I had already recorded my WHITE DEVIL project, so all i had an obligation toward was my upcoming KILLER JOE project with Mindframe MVE. I messaged him to let him know that I was going to have to abandon the album. Abandon this music shit for good, and just quit everything. Needless to say, he talked me out of that idea. And basically reminded me, that now, more than ever, music was all that i had left. And he was right.
So sometime around the 4th of July, I sat down to try and write out a few of my thoughts on the situation. The next thing you know, I had a whole EP to accompany KILLER JOE. It's autobiographical, but i found a way to link it to my other work, as sort of an origin story. 'How a serial killer is created' type of shit.
It's dark. It's ugly. But there is also beauty in it. It's such a painful project, that it's hard for me to listen to. Hopefully, anyone going through some real bad shit in their lives, will be able to use this as a source of strength. I started making this as a way to find some sort of closure for myself. And I'm happy to say, that with this project, I think I've achieved some type of level of that.
